Saturday 14/03/26 We brought together LGBTQIA+ community members and allies to share how climate change is already showing up in our lives – from flooding and storms to housing, mental health, and access to support – and what truly matters for local climate adaptation, beyond box‑ticking “consultation”.
Huge thank you to everyone who shared their stories and ideas so generously. Special thanks to Tammy from Adrian Thomas Randles Photography for thoughtfully documenting the day with photos, to Ross from Rainbow Rights for speaking about how climate events can amplify existing discrimination and why rights‑based, intersectional approaches are essential, and to FEL for supporting this work and creating space for community voices to shape regional adaptation.
These conversations will feed into the Climate Ready Forth Valley work so that future adaptation decisions better reflect the realities, risks, and strengths within our communities. This is just a starting point – we’re looking forward to keeping this work going with local partners and community groups across the region.
