Today’s ruling by the UK Supreme Court, which narrowly defines ‘woman’ as biological sex only, is more than just a legal decision—it’s a direct attack on trans rights and a step backwards for equality. Here in Grangemouth and the surrounding areas, this ruling has real consequences. It emboldens discrimination, increases the vulnerability of trans individuals, and deepens the divide in our communities.
Make no mistake: this decision doesn’t just harm trans people—it harms the entire LGBTIQ+ community. The fight for equality is interconnected, and any attempt to erase or exclude one group threatens the rights and dignity of us all. This ruling fuels prejudice, legitimizes bigotry, and chips away at the progress we’ve fought so hard to achieve.
The Queer Breakfast Club stands united against this exclusionary politics disguised as legal clarity. We reject any attempts to erase, diminish, or invalidate our community members. We will continue to advocate, uplift, and support trans individuals and the broader LGBTIQ+ community in Grangemouth and beyond.
To our trans and queer family: you are seen, you are loved, and you are not alone.
